Manchester United are named the Premier League's biggest underachievers by a landslide in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards.

Manchester United's catastrophic season has ended with the Red Devils being named the Premier League's Biggest Underachievers in the 2024-25 Sports Mole Readers' Awards.

Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim combined to oversee Man United's worst-ever campaign in the Premier League era, as the Red Devils finished in 15th place in the top-flight table with a paltry 42 points.

Man United lost nearly half of their Premier League games this season - 18 of 38 - after achieving an eighth-placed finish with 60 points on the board in the 2023-24 campaign.

All of that culminated in Man United taking 55.8% of the vote in the Premier League's Underachievers category, winning the unwanted award by a landslide over Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and West Ham United.

Former champions City were second in the nominations with 17.2% of the share, just 2% ahead of second-placed Arsenal, who claimed 15 fewer points than they accrued in the 2023-24 season.

Interestingly, even though Tottenham Hotspur ended up in an embarrassing 17th place after ranking fifth last term, the Lilywhites claimed fewer votes than Man United, Arsenal and Man City, most likely thanks to their Europa League success.

PREMIER LEAGUE UNDERACHIEVERS OF THE SEASON RESULTS

1. Manchester United - 55.8%
2. Manchester City - 17.2%
3. Arsenal - 15.2%
4. Tottenham Hotspur - 9.3%
5. West Ham United - 2.5%
