Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk joins elite list: Can you name every Premier League-winning captain?

To mark Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk lifting the Premier League trophy as captain, Sports Mole challenges you to name all of the other players on that list.

Virgil van Dijk lifted the Premier League title on Sunday, with Liverpool being presented with the trophy following their 1-1 draw with FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Liverpool finished the 2024-25 campaign with just two points from four matches, with the Merseyside giants certainly reducing their performance level after managing to secure the title at the end of April.

Arne Slot's side ended the season with a record of 25 wins, nine draws and four defeats from 38 matches, with 84 points leaving them 10 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Van Dijk was once again a key contributor for Liverpool, with the Netherlands international showing his class throughout the campaign, and he lifted the Premier League trophy above his head at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

It will now be fascinating to see what occurs during the 2025-26 season, with a number of teams expected to improve in the hope of challenging Slot's team for the trophy.

To celebrate the centre-back joining the illustrious list of Premier League-winning skippers, Sports Mole is challenging you to name every other captain to have hoisted the Premier League trophy throughout its history.
