Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos is reportedly fit to start Wednesday's crucial Champions League semi-final in Paris against Manchester City.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has been reportedly passed fit to start Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester City.

PSG's captain scored a crucial goal against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the quarter-final, but later in the game picked up an adductor problem which has ruled him out ever since.

The French giants lost the second leg in Paris 1-0, with the absence of Marquinhos, yet their 3-2 victory at the Allianz Arena was enough to progress through to the semi-finals on away goals.

French outlet L'Equipe reports that Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a major boost this week with the news that Marquinhos is fit to start against Manchester City.

If deemed fit enough, the Brazil international is expected to come straight back into the starting lineup against Manchester City, who beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2 on aggregate last round.

Marquinhos has registered 315 appearances for the French giants and will have his sights on a Champions League winner's medal after losing in the final last year.
