Leicester City target Robin Gosens reportedly prefers to keep his career in Serie A, as the Foxes suffer a blow in their pursuit of the full-back.

Leicester City have reportedly suffered a blow in their pursuit of Atalanta BC full-back Robin Gosens, who is believed to have a preference for Serie A.

The German international is entering the final year of his contract at the Gewiss Stadium and has been linked with a move away from Italy amid interest from Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers's chances of bringing Gosens to the King Power are likely to depend on whether his side achieve a top-four Premier League finish and secure Champions League football for next season.

Inside Futbol reports that Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in the defender and being based in Italy may help these two clubs fend off competition from elsewhere.

It is claimed that Leicester have opened talks with the German and are preparing a bid in the region of £25m to bring him to the Premier League.

Gosens joined Atalanta in 2017 and has scored 26 goals, registering 20 assists in 144 appearances for the club.
