Manchester City will be without right-back Bacary Sagna for three weeks after he was injured while on international duty with France.

Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has been ruled out for three weeks after he was injured while on international duty.

The 33-year-old suffered a hamstring tear during the first half of France's 4-1 World Cup qualifying win over Bulgaria on Friday.

He was expected to be sidelined for at least a month, but scans have since revealed that the injury is not as bad as first feared.

However, Sagna will nonetheless be unavailable for Everton's visit at the weekend, both Champions League matches with Barcelona and the derby clash with Manchester United in the EFL Cup.

The right-back missed almost a month at the start of the season after injuring a hamstring in the the 5-0 win over Steaua Bucuresti in August.
