How Manchester City could line up against Swansea City

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up against Swansea City in the FA Cup last 16 on Wednesday evening.

Manchester City will be aiming to keep their quest for an unprecedented quadruple alive when they face Swansea City for a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Citizens beat Birmingham City and Cheltenham Town in rounds three and four respectively and enter this game on a 14-match winning streak.

Pep Guardiola's side thumped Liverpool 4-1 to tighten their hold on top spot in the Premier League last time out and face Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

With the fixtures continuing to come thick and fast, Sports Mole looks at how Man City could line up at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday.

Guardiola remains without Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, the latter of whom is back in training after recovering from coronavirus but lacking fitness.

Nathan Ake is City's other confirmed absentee, while fellow defender Kyle Walker may return after sitting out the Liverpool victory with a minor injury.

Amid a tough run of Premier League fixtures, Guardiola is expected to use this clash with Swansea as a chance to give some of his fringe players another run-out.

That could mean a return up top for Gabriel Jesus, with Ferran Torres and Riyad Mahrez offering support.

Young midfielder Tommy Doyle has started twice in the cup competitions this term and will be hoping for another appearance at the Liberty Stadium.

Phil Foden has been involved in nine goals in nine appearances in the FA Cup, but he is now a key player under Guardiola and may therefore be rested for this trip to South Wales.
