Liverpool are likely to turn down a request from Bundesliga club Hannover to take teenage winger Ben Woodburn on loan, according to reports.

Liverpool have reportedly opted to turn down a request from Hannover to sign Ben Woodburn on loan.

The 17-year-old winger is one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Anfield and has already made nine first-team appearances for the Reds.

Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest ever scorer when he netted against Leeds United at the age of 17 years and 45 days during an EFL Cup quarter-final last season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga side are showing interest in the Wales Under-19 international plus his teammate Ryan Kent.

However, Liverpool are thought to be reluctant to let Woodburn go abroad as they look to keep a closer eye on his immediate progress.

The Chester-born teenager, who scored in Liverpool's pre-season friendly win against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, won the club's academy player of the season award last term.
