Liverpool reportedly carry out background checks on transfer target Nick Pope.

Liverpool have reportedly turned their attention to Burnley's Nick Pope in their search for a new goalkeeper.

The Reds have conducted background checks on the England international to establish whether he would be a suitable replacement for their out-of-favour stopper Loris Karius, according to The Mirror.

Liverpool are said to be keen to learn more about Pope's personality and mentality before they push forward with a bid.

Burnley reportedly value the 26-year-old, who replaced the injured Tom Heaton between their sticks last September, at around £18m.

The Merseyside outfit have also been linked with Roma's Alisson Becker and Jack Butland of Stoke City.
