Liverpool are allegedly contemplating whether to make a €100m (£84.1m) approach for a Paris Saint-Germain star that contributed to their Champions League exit on Tuesday night.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in making a mega-money move for one of Paris Saint-Germain's star players during the summer transfer window.

On Tuesday night, the two teams met in a mammoth Champions League occasion at Anfield, Liverpool having been defending a 1-0 advantage after their late win in France.

However, PSG came through a chaotic opening period with an early advantage to level the tie before eventually sealing their place in the quarter-finals via a penalty shootout.

The level of the performance from Luis Enrique's side has led to some media and pundits making the Ligue 1 outfit the new favourites to win the competition.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool manager Arne Slot and club officials have been left so impressed by one of PSG's players that they plan to make a formal approach for him at the end of the season.

Liverpool to make Dembele move?

Liverpool are allegedly prepared to commit to a €100m (£84.1m) proposal to get a deal over the line for Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele's tap-in after confusion inside the Liverpool penalty area made it 21 goals for the France international since the start of 2025.

In total, 29 strikes and six assists have come from 36 appearances this campaign, with eight of those contributions coming in the Champions League.

After years of inconsistency and below-par performances, Dembele is now enjoying the best period of his career at the age of 27, something that PSG will hope continues in the long term.

Furthermore, PSG remain in a strong position to retain his services, a consequence of his contract not expiring until 2028.

Nevertheless, it is claimed that Liverpool will present their Champions League conquerors with the opportunity to cash in on their standout star player.

Would Salah need to leave Liverpool?

Given the finances that would be involved, it is plausible to question whether Mohamed Salah would need to leave Liverpool to accommodate Dembele's arrival given that his contract is due to expire in the summer.

Salah would not be dislodged from his right-wing role regardless of who may be signed, but Dembele has excelled down the centre when required this season.

If Diogo Jota or Darwin Nunez were sold, it would help Liverpool finance a deal for Dembele at a time when club officials also need to give serious consideration to fresh faces being signed at right-back and centre-back.
