Liverpool are reportedly prioritising a move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches over Brighton & Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma.

Liverpool are reportedly set to prioritise a move for Lille's Renato Sanches over Brighton & Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma this summer.

The Reds are in the market for a new central midfielder following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum, and a plethora of players have been linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have been tipped to move for Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez, but the Spaniard is thought to be in talks over a swap deal with Barcelona involving Antoine Griezmann.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool would rather move for Sanches than Bissouma this term, which has handed Arsenal a boost in their pursuit of the Brighton man.

Sanches scored one goal and assisted three more in 23 Ligue 1 appearances last term as Lille marched to the title, and he also caught the eye with his performances during Portugal's Euro 2020 campaign.

The 23-year-old's existing Lille contract is due to run out in 2023, and he previously made 12 Premier League appearances during an ill-fated spell with Swansea City.
