Barcelona are reportedly unable to pursue a deal for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, handing a boost to the likes of Liverpool.

Barcelona have reportedly ended their interest in signing Lille midfielder Renato Sanches during the summer transfer window.

Despite helping the French outfit win the Ligue 1 crown last season, Sanches is expected to leave Stade Pierre Mauroy in the coming weeks.

Lille need to boost their financial position as soon as possible, inevitably resulting in widespread interest in the Portugal international.

However, according to Le 10 Sport, Barcelona are unable to meet Lille's asking price, said to be in the region of £30m.

Liverpool are allegedly monitoring any developments with regards to the 23-year-old's future as they look to sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Sanches has two years remaining on his Lille contract.
