Luis Suarez has insisted that he did not have to think twice about joining Liverpool in 2011 as it is a "dream" move for any player.
The Uruguay international made the switch from Ajax to Anfield for a fee of £22m, going on to score 82 times in his 133 appearances for the Reds.
Suarez brought his time on Merseyside to an end three years ago by joining La Liga giants Barcelona, but he claims that the affection shown to him by Liverpool supporters remains fresh in his memory.
"When I was little, Liverpool was one of the biggest clubs in Europe and was renowned throughout the world," he told the club's official website. "So when I found out about the club's interest in me I was never in doubt because it's the dream for any player. I never imagined that I would get the chance to play there.
"At Anfield, the fans get right behind you come what may. The affection that they show to you is just so special, which in turn makes you lift up your head and respond, rather than letting it drop a little. For me, this is just what the Liverpool fans have."
Suarez, who famously named his daughter Delfina - an anagram of Anfield - scored 41 goals in 52 appearances for Barcelona in 2016-17.
