Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that his side are not out for "revenge" against Burnley after the Clarets' victory at Anfield last year.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his side are not out for "revenge" against Burnley after the Clarets' victory at Anfield last year.

Sean Dyche's side travelled to Merseyside in January seeking to become the first team in nearly four years to win a Premier League game on the Anfield turf, and Ashley Barnes's winner saw Liverpool's 68-game unbeaten home league run come to an end.

Defeat to the Clarets marked the Reds' first league defeat at home since April 2017, but Klopp does not believe that the loss will be an added motivation for his players this weekend.

Speaking to the media ahead of Saturday's game, Klopp said: "I didn't think about it - it was a strange game. Yes we lost, that's how football is.

"It has nothing to do with this game now we will try everything to have our first home game in front of our crowd and we want to enjoy it and that's possible when you play positive and just go for it.

"There are no guarantees out there especially against Burnley because they can make you uncomfortable, Sean [Dyche] does a brilliant job there - they can be annoying.

"Good set pieces, a clear way of playing. That's what we're preparing for, not for any kind of revenge, we just want to have a positive game."

Klopp was unable to confirm Fabinho's availability after the news of the Brazilian's father's passing, but Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson are closing in on returns to the field.
