Daniel Agger's Liverpool career got off to something of a false start, with injuries limiting him to just four appearances in his debut season with the club and ruling him out of the 2006 FA Cup final at the end of that campaign.

However, he had plenty of time to make up for that and showed Liverpool fans the first glimpse of what they could expect when he opened his account with a 35-yard screamer against West Ham United in August 2006 - a strike which was later voted the club's goal of the season.

Agger's time at Anfield continued to be blighted by injuries, but he played in the 2007 Champions League final and also helped the club to League Cup glory in 2012.

The Denmark international returned to Brondby for personal reasons in 2014 having played 232 games for Liverpool during a nine-year stay at the club, scoring 14 goals in that time.
