Loris Karius: 'Nobody will want to face Liverpool in last eight'

Karius: 'Nobody will want to face Reds'

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius claims that 'no team will be happy' travelling to Anfield, as the Reds look forward to a Champions League quarter-final double header.

Loris Karius has insisted that it does not matter who Liverpool face in the next round of the Champions League, as all the remaining sides will fear travelling to Anfield.

The Reds are in the hat for the last-eight draw a week on Friday thanks to Tuesday night's stalemate with Porto, which saw them sail through 5-0 on aggregate.

Despite their recent inexperience in the knockout rounds of the competition, last reaching this stage nine years ago, Karius is confident that Liverpool can overcome anyone in their path.

"I don't think anyone would be happy to come here. We know that," he told reporters. "But it doesn't really matter who the next team is; if you want to win this competition you have to come up against them eventually.

"We'll take it as it comes. But I don't think anyone wants us."

Jurgen Klopp has lost just two of his 23 European matches at Anfield since taking charge of Liverpool, with 51 goals being scored in that time.
