Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland previously claimed that his dream was to win the Premier League with Leeds United.

Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland revealed two years ago that his dream was to win the Premier League with Leeds United.

The 19-year-old turned heads across Europe by scoring a remarkable first-half hat-trick on his Champions League debut during a 6-2 win over Genk.

Haaland's name has piqued the interest of those in England due to his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who was involved in a famous clash with Roy Keane in which the latter broke Haaland's leg.

Speaking back in 2017 during an interview with Aftenposten, Haaland said: "I want to be the best. The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.

"In addition, the goal is to be a better player than Dad was. I hope to get more international matches than he did."

Manchester United have reportedly scouted the youngster since last year, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handing strong praise to his fellow countryman at a press conference on Wednesday.

Haaland, who played under Solskjaer at Molde, said after the win over Genk that Salzburg would aspire to be the Ajax of this season's Champions League.
