Manchester United are reportedly keen to reestablish contract talks with Paul Pogba despite the midfielder expressing a desire to leave Old Trafford.

Manchester United reportedly plan to establish fresh contract talks with Paul Pogba despite the midfielder's claim that he wanted to leave Old Trafford over the summer.

The Frenchman, speaking to reporters in June, expressed how he wanted a "new challenge" elsewhere - something underscored by his agent Mino Raiola.

However, despite Real Madrid's keen interest, United were unwilling to budge on their valuation of Pogba, which is thought to be around £160m.

According to ESPN, United remain determined to reopen contract talks with the 26-year-old, whose current deal expires in 2021, with the club having an option to extend for a further year.

However, the Red Devils will need to convince Pogba that remaining at Old Trafford serves as his best option amid continued interest from Los Blancos.

United have recently secured fresh-long term deals for David de Gea and Victor Lindelof, with the club now working on tying down other key talents such as Mason Greenwood.
