Hednesford Town denied win after late abandonment

The Conference North fixture between Worcester City and Hednesford Town is abandoned with 15 minutes remaining, with the visitors holding a 3-0 advantage.

Hednesford Town have been denied an almost certain three points after their Conference North fixture with Worcester City was abandoned with 15 minutes remaining.

The Pitmen had opened up a 3-0 advantage thanks to an own goal and efforts from Richard Batchelor and Glenn Walker before conditions began to deteriorate due to sleet and snow falling at Aggborough, the home of Kidderminster Harriers.

Despite only a quarter of an hour remaining on his watch, the referee, without taking any time to assess the conditions, brought an abrupt halt to proceedings to hand the home side a reprieve when it appeared as though they were about to fall to defeat.

With the result unlikely to stand, the fixture is expected to be rearranged in the near future.
