How France could line up against Germany

Ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Nations League clash between France and Germany, Sports Mole looks at how France could line up against the 2014 world champions.

France head into Tuesday's UEFA Nations League clash with Germany looking to record the win which would prevent Joachim Low's team from finishing in top spot in the Group A1 table.

The world champions have recorded four points from their opening two games against their next opponents and the Netherlands, but Didier Deschamps will have concerns regarding his squad heading into the contest.

France required an 86th-minute own goal from Holmar Eyjolfsson and a late penalty from Kylian Mbappe to claim a 2-2 draw against Iceland last week.

Here, Sports Mole looks at what changes Deschamps could make for the visit of Germany.

Possible FRA XI vs. GER

Six of the team which started the World Cup final against Croatia began the friendly international on Thursday, and Deschamps is unlikely to take any of those players out of the team.

Presnel Kimpembe will expect to keep his place alongside Raphael Varane in the centre of defence, but Lucas Hernandez could return to replace Lucas Digne at left-back.

N'Golo Kante should be handed a recall with Steven N'Zonzi dropping to the substitutes' bench, while Mbappe will take the place of either Florian Thauvin or Ousmane Dembele.

Thomas Lemar and Dimitri Payet are also competing for a role in France's front four.
