Caroline Garcia won the Tianjin Open with a 7-6 (9/7) 6-3 victory over top seed Karolina Pliskova.
The tournament’s two top seeds reached the final and the pair were closely matched as the first set went to a tie-break, where Pliskova raced into a 5-1 lead.

However, the Czech suddenly made a series of errors and allowed Garcia back into it. Garcia saved a set point at 5-6 before going on to win the hour long first set.
In the second set, Garcia stormed to a 5-0 lead and first served for the match at 5-1. However, she was made to wait a little longer for her victory and secured the title with her sixth ace of the match.

Teenager Dayana Yastremska easily saw off the challenge of Wang Qiang in the Hong Kong Open final to win her first WTA Tour trophy.
The 18-year-old dropped just three games as she overcame her Chinese opponent with a 6-2 6-1 victory in one hour and five minutes.
