Former Manchester City star Shaun Goater has offered to help the club sign a contract with Erling Haaland next summer. After two failures in the last transfer window (Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo), Manchester City does not want to miss out on signing a top goal scorer next summer. The Skyblues are interested in signing Haaland and the management of the English club might just have an important advantage in this case. In an interview with Casumo Odds & Betting Goater namely said that he was ready to help his former club get the Norwegian to sign for the England champions this summer.
Shaun Goater offered to speak to Alf-Inge Haaland (the father of Erling Haaland)
Born on February 25, 1970 in Hamilton, the former turf star was an international footballer who played for several English clubs between 1989 and 2006. He is notably a Manchester City legend. He played for this famous club from 1998 to 2003, while still at Maine Road. He was also elected the club's top scorer for four of those five seasons. Now he thinks he knows how to get Erling Haaland to the Etihad Stadium. It should be noted that Goater and Alf-Inge Håland, Erling's father, spent time together on the pitch at Manchester City. Speaking to Casumo, Goater said, "If they need me to talk to Haaland, I'll do what I can. By the way, that would be an exceptional buy as he is young, his scoring record in Europe is phenomenal and I think he would adapt easily to the Premier League. He played against City in the Champions League last season and his pace was scary. Hope City look at him strongly with Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo in the past. Kane was City's main target in the summer transfer window, but a deal never materialized."
Manchester City and Mino Raiola Talks to Start Soon, The Times Says
Manchester City are due to talk to Mino Raiola, Erling Haaland's agent next January, according to the famous newspaper The Times. The Norwegian forward is the priority for the English club, where his father played. But be aware that the competition will be tough. The player is linked with Borussia Dortmund (German football club founded on December 19, 1909, and based in Dortmund) until 2024 but intends to leave his home next summer after being the subject of numerous rumours during the last transfer window. The amount of his release clause in his contract is expected to rise to 75 million euros in 2022. But a departure could be negotiated at much higher prices because the competition is high. Haaland was erected as the club's recruiting priority for which his father, Alf-Inge, played for three seasons (2000-2003).
Manchester United and the Great Solskjaer
We remind you that the Cityzens tried to recruit a quality striker last summer by calling Harry Kane. But the England striker was ultimately retained by Tottenham. The next target now seems to be Haaland even if Manchester United, also in the ranks, have some strengths to show on this file. Haaland played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, currently on the bench for the Red Devils. The two men have kept in touch ever since. The Chelsea club also took an interest in the former Salzburg player last summer before signing Romelu Lukaku. PSG are also cited among potential courtiers, as are Real Madrid. Last summer, Mino Raiola and Halaland's father embarked on a high-profile European road trip to meet several top clubs that could sign the top scorer. The striker remained at Dortmund who have not given up hope of retaining him next summer. Hans-Joachim Watzke, Managing Director of Dortmund, has confided his intention to extend his lease with a strong salary increase. "It has not been decided that he leaves next summer," he said recently.
