The Champions League is hands-down the best club soccer competition in the world - nothing even comes close. It has all of the best players, the best teams and, at this stage of the competition at least, the best match-ups with huge teams clashing with one another.
This, of course, means it is a very popular time of the year for everyone who loves soccer and who loves to bet on soccer. The Champions League quarter-finals usually bring great odds, superb offers and numerous chances to do live soccer betting on some of the biggest players and clubs in existence.
It can be hard to work out what is going to happen, though, with sides so evenly matched and with games quite hard to call. When it gets to this stage usually games turn on one moment of magic, one defensive error or even just one moment of madness that changes games and alters the course of European soccer. There is a reason odds are usually good on these games, which is that the bookmakers find it as hard to call as we do.
Here, we take a look at each of the quarter-finals and consider who is going to go through, get the chance to go for glory in the semi-final and then take the trophy back from Kiev. So here is a quick preview of each tie as well as prediction of who will win it.
Sevilla vs. Bayern (April 3 and 11)
This seems the most cut and dried of all the semi-finals. Sevilla did very well to knockout Manchester United but this Bayern team are a totally different prospect, especially with the second leg being in Munich. It is already pretty clear that Bayern will mow over Sevilla who lack the midfield presence that Bayern have, as well as the defensive nous. The first leg will likely be a narrow Bayern away win followed by a comfortable home victory.
Juventus vs. Real Madrid (April 3 and 11)
This is very hard to call, with a repeat of last year's final being a matchup many people will have wanted to see. The issue for Juventus is that Madrid have little else to focus on and will have all their attention and resources on winning this game. Juventus, on the other hand, have the league to worry about with Napoli right on their tails. This will likely make the difference and Real will edge the tie.
Manchester City vs. Liverpool (April 4 and 10)
An all-Premier League matchup is very exciting, and Liverpool are one of the few sides to beat Manchester City this season. City, though, have real strength in depth and the ability to blow sides away. City will likely edge a tight tie with Liverpool's defensive issues being their downfall.
Barcelona vs. Roma (April 4 and 10)
This one is easier - Barcelona are a cut above Roma and beat them 6-1 last season in the group stages. Messi and co should be too much for the Italian side and canter through.
