Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, who has been heavily linked to Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to take on Tottenham Hotspur to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman recently confirmed that the England international will leave the club this summer after rejecting a new contract.

Tottenham have been the frontrunners for the 23-year-old for some time, but it is believed that they are so far unwilling to meet Everton's £50m price tag.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Chelsea have turned their attention to midfield options, and Barkley is a top target as they intend to boost their quota of homegrown stars.

The player has just 12 months left on his contract at Goodison Park.
