Chelsea reportedly remain confident that a takeover of the club will be completed by the end of the month.

Chelsea are reportedly anticipating no further hitches in their efforts to push through a takeover before the end of the month.

The Premier League outfit are currently operating under a special government licence, a consequence of owner Roman Abramovich having links with Russia president Vladimir Putin.

The licence is due to expire on May 31, leaving open the possibility that the West Londoners could either enter administration or not meet the criteria required to play in the Premier League.

However, according to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, everything is still on track ahead of an announcement being made early next week.

Realistically, that would mean that all but a few minor details are completed this week before plans are made to confirm a consortium headed by Todd Boehly as the new owners.

The report suggests that there will be no early announcement, with all parties wanting signatures on the dotted line before Boehly's unveiling officially takes place.

The American, who has already attended a number of Chelsea fixtures, will hope to hold formal talks with head coach Thomas Tuchel as soon as possible, the German acknowledging that the club must be decisive in the transfer market when they are given the green light.
