Sports Mole brings you live coverage of the Premier League encounter between Cardiff City and Chelsea.

Chelsea have secured third place in the Premier League table after coming from behind to record a 2-1 victory against Cardiff City.

Craig Bellamy had given the Bluebirds the lead after his 25-yard shot deflected off Cesar Azpilicueta and into the far corner, but that was as good as it got for the Welsh outfit as Chelsea dominated the rest of the encounter.

It took until 72 minutes for Chelsea to equalise through Andre Schurrle before Fernando Torres struck from close range three minutes later to seal maximum points for the Blues.

Read below to see how the action unfolded at the Cardiff City Stadium.

2.07pmHello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match between Cardiff City and Chelsea in the Premier League.

2.13pmA few weeks ago, this was looking like it could be a hugely important game at both the top and bottom of the table. However, both clubs have struggled recently, and it turns out that there is little other than pride riding on this match. Still, both teams will be wanting to finish on a high and with the pressure off, hopefully we will have an entertaining encounter!

2.15pmRight then, without further ado, lets bring you the team news from the Cardiff City Stadium.

2.17pmCARDIFF CITY XI: Marshall; Fabio, Caulker, Turner, John; Gunnarsson, Mutch, Whittingham, Daehli; Bellamy, Campbell

2.18pmCARDIFF CITY SUBSTITUTES: Lewis, Eikrem, Cowie, McNaughton, Berget, James, Healey

2.19pmCARDIFF CITY SUBSTITUTES: Lewis, Eikrem, Cowie, McNaughton, Berget, James, Healey

2.25pmIt had been rumoured that Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could include several reserve players in his starting lineup, but that hasn't turned out to be the case. It's a strong-looking team that has been selected by Solskjaer, with academy player Rhys Healey earning a place on the bench.

2.30pmCHELSEA XI: Schwarzer; Ivanovic, Kalas, Azpilicueta, Cole; Oscar, Mikel, Salah, Hazard, Matic; Torres

2.31pmCHELSEA SUBSTITUTES: Hilario, Luiz, Schurrle, Ba, Cahill, Ake, Swift.

2.33pmAs expected, John Terry, Frank Samuel Eto'o all miss out for Chelsea, while Ramires is suspended. Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has handed a second Premier League to Tomas Kalas, while Nathan Ake and John Swift earn a place on the substitutes' bench.

2.36pmWith this being the final day of the season, we have commentaries of all 10 fixtures that are taking place this afternoon. You can take your pick of the lot by clicking here.

2.38pmOne interesting note coming from the Chelsea lineup - Ashley Cole has been handed the captaincy. With Terry, Lampard and Cech absent, it might not be too much of a surprise, but Cole being handed the skipper's armband could be a sign that the left-back could potentially be playing his last game for the Blues this afternoon.

2.41pmWe've just 20 minutes before we get underway at the Cardiff City Stadium, so that probably leaves just enough time for us to do a quick review of how each team has performed since the middle of August. First up, Cardiff...

2.45pmAfter dominating the Championship under Malky Mackay, Cardiff began this season with real hopes of a mid-table finish, but once speculation began regarding disagreements between owner Vincent Tan and the coaching staff at the club, things soon turned sour. There was outrage up and down the country when Mackay lost his job, and although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had the potential to be a popular replacement, he has struggled to change the mentality in South Wales and his side have always been chasing results during the second half of the campaign. The Norwegian will spend the summer making drastic changes to his playing squad, but if he is given time to succeed, he could earn a return to the top flight at the first opportunity.

2.48pmRoman Abramovich won widespread approval for bringing Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge but although it's been a relatively successful season for the Blues, they will end the season without a trophy, and it remains to be seen how that failure will be judged during the summer. Chelsea can take the positives of finishing in the top three and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, but poor performances against a selection of mid-table clubs has denied the West London outfit a chance to secure their fourth league title.

2.52pmPREDICTION! Despite little riding on this game, several players are playing for their futures and this is the last chance to convince their respective bosses that they deserve a place next season. Cardiff will be looking to put in a spirited performance this afternoon, but Chelsea still have a small chance of finishing second and that possibility could inspire them to grind out a narrow 2-1 victory.

2.56pmThe two sets of players are getting ready to make their way out onto a faultless playing surface at the Cardiff City Stadium. We will be getting started in just a few minutes!

1 minCardiff City get us underway. It's a beautiful day in South Wales!

2 minThere is a silly amount of balloons on the pitch. I have no idea why - it's not as if there is anything to celebrate!

2 minChelsea have an early shout for a penalty when a sharp turn from Oscar fools Ben Turner, but the referee doesn't think that there was enough contact to award a spot kick. That could have gone either way.

3 minCHANCE! If there was a lot riding on this match, Jose Mourinho would be going berserk on the touchline! Fernando Torres managed to get the ball around David Marshall but he was distracted after the ball went through a sea of balloons, and although he did well to power the ball towards an empty net, the involvement of the balloons allowed the defender to get back and clear.

5 minMoments later, Oscar did well on the edge of the area before curling the ball marginally over the crossbar from 18 yards. This is all Chelsea so far.

8 minThe first goal of the afternoon has come at the Stadium of Light where Nathan Dyer has given Swansea City the lead over Sunderland. I'm sure that there will be a few more important goals than that to come...

11 minThe last few minutes have been relatively quiet. Cardiff are having much more of the ball now, but the Chelsea backline looks strong.

14 minI know that we should expect it from a Premier League team, but the playing surface at Cardiff is immaculate. There really should be no excuse for not playing some attractive football on this pitch.

15 minGOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Chelsea (Bellamy)

15 minOut of nowhere, Cardiff take the lead, albeit in rather fortuitous circumstances! The ball broke to Craig Bellamy around 35 yards from goal, and after taking a stride forward, his shot took a huge deflection off Cesar Azpilicueta and flew into the far corner. Mark Schwarzer had no chance.

18 minLooking back at the goal, it could possibly be an Azpilicueta own goal. It was touch and go whether Bellamy's shot was going to be on target.

20 minGOALFLASH! Newcastle United have taken the lead against Liverpool at Anfield! Martin Skrtel has put through his own net. The Premier League title looks to be heading to Manchester City...

23 minChelsea need to get their act together in this match. That goal has taken them by surprise and if anything, Cardiff look more likely to add to their lead.

26 minThat's much better from the Blues. They win the ball in midfield before putting a fine move involving eight or more passes, but after Oscar received the ball inside the penalty area, he was quickly dispossessed.

27 minCHANCE! Oscar wastes another opening for the visitors. A superb long ball put the Brazilian clear on goal, but he took too much time to set up his shot and he hooked the ball wide of the post.

29 minAll of a sudden, the Cardiff defence is being opened up at will, but Chelsea still can't find a goal. On this occasion, Mohamed Salah received the ball on the edge of the area but his shot lacked power and was easily claimed by David Marshall.

33 minIt doesn't look like Manchester United will be playing in Europe next season. They have fallen behind at Southampton and with Spurs winning against Aston Villa, they require turnarounds in both fixtures to win a place in the Europa League.

35 minChelsea win a corner on the right-hand side after good work from Fernando Torres, but the delivery into the box is a poor one and Cardiff clear.

38 minAshley Cole makes good progress down the left, but after controlling the ball on his chest inside the penalty area, he saw his cross nudged wide by Eden Hazard.

39 minGOALFLASH! Manchester City have taken the lead against West Ham United. Samir Nasri is the goalscorer. That could be that for Liverpool...

40 minMohamed Salah gets into another good position for Chelsea, but once again, his end product is poor as he skies a left-foot shot over the bar.

43 minIt's worth noting that Fulham have fallen behind to Crystal Palace, so if results stay the same, Cardiff will avoid finishing at the bottom of the table.

45 minThere will be two minutes of added-on time.

45+2 minHALF TIME: Cardiff City 1-0 Chelsea

3.50pmThe referee brings an end to the first half at the Cardiff City Stadium, and after Mohamed Salah saw a shot whistle past the post judge before the whistle, the home side hold the advantage at the break.

3.54pmDespite going in behind, Chelsea are dominating the stats. They have had 11 shots on goal compared to Cardiff's six, while they have had five corners without reply. The Blues have had plenty of the ball too - 62% to be precise. Still, it matters not - Cardiff are on course for a moral-boosting three points.

3.57pmYou can see how the Premier League table currently stands with 45 minutes remaining by clicking here. As it stands, Manchester City are winning the title by five points, Spurs will be in the Europa League, and Fulham will end the campaign in last place. Things could still change though...

46 minWe are back underway at the Cardiff City Stadium.

48 minGOALFLASH! Manchester City have one hand and four fingers on the Premier League trophy. Vincent Kompany has given them a 2-0 lead against West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium

50 minHow many times is Mohamed Salah going to fail to hit the target this afternoon? To be fair to the Egyptian, he does fantastically to create a chance for himself but from 10 yards out, he dragged his shot wide of the far post.

54 minCardiff have hardly touched the ball since the restart, but they are managing to hold onto their advantage. I wonder how long Chelsea will wait before making a change - Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba could be first in line to be introduced into the game.

57 minChelsea are committing more men forward, leaving just the two centre-backs and John Obi Mikel, as their last form of defence, and Cardiff are beginning to look threatening on the break. There should be more goals in this one...

60 minWe are an hour through this match, and I think Jose Mourinho has had enough. The introduction of Demba Ba could be imminent.

63 minWe still await Demba Ba - maybe Mourinho has decided to give his team an extra few minutes - but Chelsea still can't break the Cardiff City wall down. Mohamed Salah sent another shot towards goal, but his effort hit Nemanja Matic and was cleared.

65 minEden Hazard is the next to try and net an equaliser for the Blues but after taking the ball past Fabio, he sent the ball into the side-netting. Mourinho has decided against bringing Ba on, and instead, Andre Schurrle has replaced John Obi Mikel.

69 minFor all the shots that have been attempted in this match, just five have hit the target! We must have had at least 25 efforts. Make that six shots on target, but Oscar's shot from distance is straight at David Marshall.

72 minGOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Chelsea (Schurrle)

72 minChelsea finally have the equaliser that their pressure deserves. After David Marshall made a miraculous block from Cesar Azpilicueta, the ball fell kindly for Andre Schurrle, whose volley from 12 yards just evaded the reach of the Scot.

75 minGOAL! Cardiff City 1-2 Chelsea (Torres)

75 minPlease don't adjust your screens - Fernando Torres has scored to give Chelsea the lead! Andre Schurrle cleverly headed the ball into the path of the Spaniard, who kept his composure instead the penalty area to fire the ball past Marshall from six yards.

78 minSUBSTITUTION! That goal has resulted in Jose Mourinho introducing Nathan Ake in place of Mohamed Salah. This could be a valuable 10 minutes for the youngster.

80 minWow - it was very nearly a disastrous start from Ake! The midfielder headed the ball straight into the path of Fabio who was waiting on the edge of the area, but his volley was straight at Mark Schwarzer.

83 minChelsea have started to control the pace of the game again, and they look more than happy to see the match out. Seven minutes to go.

86 minThe Blues are probing for a third, but Cardiff are doing just enough to keep them at bay. Fernando Torres has enjoyed a decent game for Chelsea this afternoon, but I suppose it's hard to take the positives away from performing against Cardiff and not against the top teams in the division.

88 minEden Hazard is making his way off the pitch to be replaced by John Swift, who is making his Premier League debut for the Blues.

90 minSAVE! I'm sure there are going to be a few teams in for David Marshall at the end of the season. The Scot has just pulled off a tremendous one-handed save to prevent Andre Schurrle's effort from curling into the top corner. There will be three minutes of added-on time.

90+2 minChelsea have one last chance through Oscar, but he dumps his free kick into the front row of the stand behind the goal.

90+3 minFULL TIME: Cardiff City 1-2 Chelsea

4.54pmThe full-time whistle goes at the Cardiff City Stadium, and Chelsea have come from behind to earn a deserved 2-1 victory. They made it hard for themselves at times, but two goals in three minutes helped them make sure of third place in the Premier League table.

4.56pmElsewhere in the Premier League, Manchester City have won the title after beating West Ham United 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium, leaving Liverpool to settle for second place. Spurs have confirmed their place in the Europa League, meaning that Manchester United won't feature in Europe next season, while Cardiff's defeat in this match has seen them finished their debut Premier League campaign in last place.

4.57pmThat will be all from Sports Mole for this match, and for this year's Premier League season. It's been a thrilling ride, hasn't it?! Congratulations to Manchester City for winning their second league title in three years. Goodbye for now.
