Chelsea suffer two more injury blows after Reece James and Andreas Christensen were forced off against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.

Chelsea pair Reece James and Andreas Christensen appear likely to miss Sunday's Premier League fixture with Liverpool.

While Thomas Tuchel has been able to welcome a number of players back from coronavirus, the Blues head coach continues to contend with widespread issues in the treatment room.

James and Christensen joined that list on Wednesday night, James the first to be withdrawn and helped off the pitch against Brighton & Hove Albion after suffering a hamstring injury.

Christensen, who has recently suffered with a back problem, appeared to sustain a recurrence of the same issue, leading to his substitution at half time.

Tuchel confirmed both injuries in his pre-match press conference, adding that Timo Werner is also some way from a return having yet to return to training after coronavirus.

Chelsea will head into Sunday's fixture with the Merseyside giants holding a one-point advantage in second position.
