Aberdeen have won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 35 years courtesy of a penalty-shootout victory over Scottish giants Celtic in the final at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.
An own goal from Alfie Dorrington sent Celtic ahead in the 39th minute of the contest, and it appeared that would be the decider, but a big mistake from Hoops goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saw the scores levelled in the 83rd minute.
The experienced stopper turned a cross from Shayden Morris into the back of his own net to level it up late on, with the final of the Scottish Cup heading for extra time and ultimately penalties.
Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnson missed in the shootout for Celtic, while Aberdeen were perfect from the spot to stun the Scottish champions and secure their first Scottish Cup success since 1990.

Celtic won the 2024-25 Scottish Premiership title with 92 points, 17 more than second-placed Rangers, while they secured the Scottish League Cup with a penalty-shootout success over Rangers.
A third domestic trophy would have seen them secure a record ninth treble on Saturday afternoon, but Aberdeen had other ideas, with the Dons putting in a wonderful performance to shock Brendan Rodgers' side.
Domestically, Celtic have once again been dominant despite their failure in the final of the Scottish Cup, but it was their showing in the Champions League that has made this such a strong campaign.
Indeed, Rodgers's side went all the way with Bayern Munich in the knockout round playoffs, ultimately losing 3-2 to the German giants, and the future looks incredibly bright for the dominant force in Scottish football despite this setback, which not too many saw coming.
When the dust settles, Celtic can take the positives from another successful season, but this was all about Aberdeen, who have landed the Scottish Cup for the eighth time in their history and the first time in 35 years.
What an achievement from Jimmy Thelin's team.

MAN OF THE MATCH - GRAEME SHINNIE

Aberdeen deserve so much credit for their performance on Saturday afternoon, and Shinnie was excellent in the middle of their midfield, putting in a brilliant performance against the Hoops.
The 33-year-old worked incredibly hard for his team, while he was always prepared to take the ball under pressure, and the midfielder also came up with a successful penalty in the shootout for good measure.
