Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths says that he and his teammates are looking to set new records after they started their domestic campaign with a 4-1 win over Hearts.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has revealed that he and his teammates are looking to break more domestic records this season.

The Glasgow giants went through the last campaign without tasting defeat, and they began the defence of their Scottish Premiership title with a 4-1 victory over Hearts.

Griffiths netted twice during a one-sided match in Glasgow, and the forward was pleased with how his team dealt with their first league contest of the season.

The 26-year-old told reporters: "Last season was great for us but it's a new season now and we want to set even more records. We created a number of chances in the first half and thankfully I put one away.

"We did the same in the second half and 4-1 is a decent scoreline. Looking forward to Tuesday now."

Celtic are in action against Kilmarnock in the League Cup in midweek.
