Celtic have lost their record-breaking 69-game unbeaten run after being defeated 4-0 away to Hearts on Sunday.

The Scottish side's record, which dated back to May 2016, was ended emphatically as the hosts kept a clean sheet at Tynecastle and inflicted Celtic's heaviest domestic defeat in more than seven years.

Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty and 16-year-old Harry Cochrane put the home side in control in the first half, before midfielder Manuel Milinkovic added two of his own in the second half to confirm the win.

Celtic began the run with a 7-0 thrashing of Motherwell in the final game of the 2015-16 campaign in former boss Ronny Deila's last fixture in charge. Current manager Brendan Rodgers was appointed shortly after, and the club remained undefeated for the entirety of last season.

Rodgers's side broke the Scottish unbeaten record - which stood at 62 games - in November with a win over St Johnstone, but the run has come to an abrupt end with Sunday's defeat.
