Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Burnley could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Wolves.

Burnley are sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Nick Pope ahead of Sunday's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The England shot stopper has missed the Clarets' last two matches due to a shoulder injury, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell admirably deputising between the sticks for Sean Dyche's side.

However, having failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last seven matches, Dyche will be keen to have his number one available once again after three successive defeats has seen his side drop to 17th in the table.

Dyche revealed during the week that Pope "has every chance of being fit" against Wolves, so the 29-year-old is expected to return as Burnley look to extend their six-point gap ahead of 18th-placed Fulham and survive in the Premier League for a fifth consecutive season.

Defender Kevin Long remains a doubt due to a calf injury, though, while Ashley Barnes and Robbie Brady are almost certainly unavailable due to muscle injuries.

Aside from Pope, Dyche's main dilemma may be regarding whether to restore Matej Vydra to the side, having switched to a 4-5-1 system in last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Dyche revealed that this change in shape was largely "because [Man Utd] overload the midfield so much," predominantly through Paul Pogba's inward movements from the left flank, and that he felt it "worked well" despite ultimately falling to a late loss.

However, with Wolves generally retaining possession with much less proficiency than Man Utd, we expect Vydra to return alongside Chris Wood in attack, with Jack Cork likely to be the midfielder to drop out of the side.

Indeed, the Czech Republic forward could consider himself unfortunate to have been benched after scoring three goals in his previous five starts.

Burnley possible starting lineup: Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil; Wood, Vydra
