Brighton & Hove Albion's most valuable players

Sports Mole takes a look at the most valuable players in the Brighton & Hove Albion squad.

Brighton & Hove Albion are currently 15th in the Premier League table, two points clear of the relegation zone with nine matches of the campaign left to play.

There is no guarantee that the 2019-20 campaign will resume, but there is no getting away from the fact that it has been a tough season for the Seagulls, who have struggled for consistency for long spells.

Indeed, only Norwich City (5) have won fewer Premier League games than Graham Potter's side (6) this term.

Brighton certainly have a number of talented individuals, though, and here Sports Mole takes a look at the club's most valuable players.

Neal Maupay's presence at the top of the list is not a surprise, with the 23-year-old finding the back of the net on eight occasions in the Premier League this season. The Frenchman has shown his class in the top flight since arriving from Brentford last summer, and Brighton will do very well to keep him if they are relegated.

There would also be plenty of takers for Lewis Dunk - second on the list with a valuation of £18m - should the Seagulls go down. Meanwhile, talented midfielders Davy Propper and Leandro Trossard are third and fourth respectively, which is not too surprising as both have impressed at the top level.

Aaron Mooy might feel that he is deserving of a higher valuation than £10.8m, though, while the same could be said for goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, who has six Premier League clean sheets to his name this season.

Aaron Connolly's position down the list comes as somewhat of a surprise with the 20-year-old showing his class this term. Indeed, it has been a real breakthrough campaign for the striker, who has found the back of the net on three occasions in 20 appearances in all competitions.

Jason Steele is at the bottom with a valuation of £675,000. The 29-year-old has only made one appearance for Brighton since arriving in 2018, while the lowest-ranked outfield player is experienced right-back Ezequiel Schelotto, who has not turned out for the club since the 2017-18 campaign.

Perhaps the surprise name towards the bottom of the list is Dan Burn, who has a valuation of just £4.5m. The 27-year-old has been a regular for Potter's side this season, making 25 Premier League appearances.

Burn's spot and valuation is even more unanticipated considering that Brazilian full-back Bernardo, who has struggled for regular action this season, is above him.
