Werder Bremen sign striker Claudio Pizarro for a third time on a one-year deal.

Werder Bremen have re-signed striker Claudio Pizarro on a free transfer.

The 36-year-old was a free agent after not being offered a new deal by Bayern Munich at the end of last season.

Pizarro first played for Bremen from 1999 to 2001 before having a second spell with the Bundesliga outfit between 2008 and 2013.

"I am pleased to be here again," he told the club's official website.

"It is a very challenging task. I hope I can use my experience as much as possible for the team."

Pizarro has agreed a deal until the end of the season.
