How Barcelona could line up against Valencia

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Barcelona will continue their 2020-21 La Liga campaign with a clash against Valencia on Saturday afternoon, and the Catalan giants will be eyeing a third straight success in Spain's top flight.

Ronald Koeman's side have beaten Levante and Real Sociedad in their last two league games to rise into fifth position in the table, six points behind division leaders Atletico Madrid.

Barca have dropped points in half of their 12 La Liga games this term but will be determined to end what has largely been a disappointing 2020 on a positive note.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up at Camp Nou.

Ousmane Dembele has made excellent progress in his recovery from a hamstring problem and could be available before the end of the year, but the France international will again not be involved this weekend.

Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto are also still out, but Koeman's side did not pick up any fresh issues in the important 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Wednesday night.

Clement Lenglet is expected to replace Oscar Mingueza at the back, but it could otherwise be the same XI that took to the field against Imanol Alguacil's team.

Martin Braithwaite appears to be ahead of Philippe Coutinho in the pecking order for the moment and should retain his spot on the left, with Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi also in line to start.

Pedri, meanwhile, was impressive in the victory over Sociedad, and the youngster, who arrived from Las Palmas over the summer, could again be handed a starting role.

Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong should also continue as the midfield two, meaning that Miralem Pjanic might have to accept a spot on the bench once again.
