Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is confident that Antoine Griezmann will stay at the Wanda Metropolitano beyond the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Griezmann continues to be linked with a move away from Atletico, and it was reported earlier this week that the France international was searching for properties in Barcelona.

The 26-year-old is enjoying an impressive 2017-18 campaign - managing 21 goals and 12 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions for his Madrid club.

Cerezo has insisted that Griezmann has not approached him about a move at the end of the season, and the Atletico president has played down suggestions that the attacker could depart this summer.

"Griezmann has a contract and cannot sign with another team, these are facts," Marca quotes Cerezo as saying. "He has not told me at all about wanting to move away so it would surprise me a lot of this was his desire.

"What is certain and what I can tell you is that he is under contract and this means no other sign can sign him without our permission, and it is a long contract. We should not be nervous about this, I believe he is happy and wants to continue to play for Atletico beyond this season."

Griezmann joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014.
