Former Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy admits that he would be interested in signing for Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

Goalkeeper John Ruddy has revealed that he would "love" to secure a deal with Aston Villa.

Ruddy is a free agent after being released by Norwich City at the end of the last campaign, and he has inevitably been linked with clubs in the Premier League.

However, he has suggested that he is interested in making the move to Villa, who will be hoping to secure at least a top-six place in the Championship this season.

The 30-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Well, it's a massive club with a superb infrastructure.

"Everyone knows Villa should be in the Premier League and I would love to be a part of making that happen."

Ruddy left Carrow Road having made 29 appearances in all competitions last season.
