Craig Shakespeare expects Riyad Mahrez to remain "fully committed" to Leicester City while he is still at the club, having so far received no interest in the winger.

Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has confirmed that no bids have yet been tabled for wantaway winger Riyad Mahrez.

The 26-year-old informed the Foxes at the end of last season that he wants to leave the club this summer after 'achieving all his targets' at the King Power Stadium.

Mahrez is reportedly valued at £50m by the 2015-16 Premier League champions, however, which has supposedly put Arsenal - the only side seriously linked with the Algeria international - off making an opening offer.

Shakespeare admits that he was caught a little off guard by Mahrez's recent comments, and he would be willing to cash in if the right amount is offered.

"Can it be disappointing when a player comes out publically? Yes," he told Sky Sports News. "I'm not worried. I think we have to look what is behind that as well, in terms of advice.

"We have to understand Riyad's concerns but while he is contracted to the football club, and while we've had no bids for him, which we haven't, he has to be professional and we have to be professional. He has to be fully committed here and I expect him to do that.

"But we'd have to consider [any offer]. We don't know the value and we don't know the bid so until a bid comes in - it's not worth thinking about."

Mahrez joined Leicester from Le Havre in 2014 and has gone on to score 35 goals in 138 appearances.
