Bruno Genesio insists that star striker Alexandre Lacazette "will stay at Lyon" this summer despite rumoured interest from Premier League clubs.

Lyon boss Bruno Genesio has told Arsenal that Alexandre Lacazette is not for sale this summer amid talk of a big-money switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to have made a £30m bid for the Frenchman after missing out on other targets during the current window.

Reports last week suggested that Lacazette was open to a move to the Premier League and was willing to push through a transfer, but Genesio claims that the French outfit will continue to stand strong.

"Last week, I gave Alex a little heat because he did two or three strange things in training," he is quoted as saying by The Express following Lyon's friendly with Sporting Lisbon. "He responded to me in the best way (by scoring) even if he could have scored twice, because in the first half he also had a chance with his head.

"It is good for his confidence. He was also impressive in build up. Whether that was going forward or during his hard work when the team did not have the ball. It is important for him and for the group. I do not think he is at all affected by this period and the noises around him. In any case, he will stay at Lyon."

Lacazette, also linked strongly with a move to West Ham United, still has three years to run on his current deal at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
