Jack Wilshere starts for Arsenal in tonight's EFL Cup tie against Doncaster Rovers at the Emirates.

Jack Wilshere has been handed his first start for Arsenal in 493 days as the club take on Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the EFL Cup at the Emirates.

The midfielder has made just one cameo appearance so far this season after recovering from a fractured leg, which he suffered towards the end of the 2016-17 campaign while on loan at Bournemouth.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made wholesale changes to the team that drew 0-0 with Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend.

Youngster Reiss Nelson has been handed his full debut for the North London outfit, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles also gets the nod from Wenger, who has opted for a three-man defence consisting of Calum Chambers, Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding.

Alexis Sanchez has been given a starting spot alongside Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, while Wilshere partners Mohamed Elneny in the middle of the park.

As for Doncaster, Darren Ferguson has named Tommy Rowe in the lineup after he suffered a slight calf problem at the weekend, while Jordan Houghton has been declared fit enough to play.

Arsenal: Ospina; Chambers, Mertesacker, Holding; Nelson, Wilshere, Elneny, Maitland-Niles; Walcott, Sanchez, Giroud

Doncaster Rovers: Lawlor; Blair, Butler, Whiteman, Wright; Kongolo, Mason, Coppinger, Rowe, Houghton; May
