Arsenal fail to score in four successive matches for the first time since December 2005 after drawing a blank against Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal have equalled an unwanted 16-year-old club record following Sunday's 0-0 draw with Burnley in the Premier League.

The Gunners largely struggled for attacking inspiration against Sean Dyche's side and witnessed Alexandre Lacazette waste a gilt-edged chance to win the contest at the Emirates.

That goalless stalemate extended Arsenal's winless run in 2022 to five matches, as well as representing their fourth game on the bounce without finding the back of the net.

Having failed to break down the Burnley defence on Sunday, Arsenal have now failed to score in four successive matches across all competitions for the first time since December 2005.

Arsene Wenger's men drew blanks against Bolton Wanderers, Ajax, Newcastle United and Chelsea in that period 16 years ago before breaking their duck against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup.

Arsenal missed the chance to rise back into the Champions League places on Sunday but remain just two points behind Manchester United with a game in hand.

Mikel Arteta's side are yet to bring in any new faces during the January transfer window, and the Spaniard admitted after Sunday's game that he does not know if any deals will materialise this month.
