Mikel Arteta provides update on Kieran Tierney injury

Mikel Arteta reveals that Kieran Tierney is progressing well in training as he bids to shake off an ankle complaint in time for Arsenal's trip to Leicester City.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has affirmed that Kieran Tierney is feeling "a little bit better" as he bids to return from an ankle problem.

The Scotland international has missed wins over Aston Villa and Leeds United with the issue in recent weeks, with Nuno Tavares and Sead Kolasinac deputising in his place.

Tierney was thought to have had a strong chance of facing Leicester City in Saturday's early kickoff, but Arteta has affirmed that a decision has not been made yet.

Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference, Arteta said: "He's progressing in training. He felt a little bit better these last few days, but he wasn't 100% to start the other day. We will see what happens in the next 48 hours."

However, the Gunners have been handed a boost through Martin Odegaard, who is now back in training after recovering from a bout of illness.
