Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is fighting for his life in hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage on Saturday, May 5.

The 76-year-old was rushed to hospital in the morning before having successful surgery on the problem at Salford Royal Hospital.

However, Ferguson remains in intensive care following the operation, with uncertainty still surrounding his serious condition.

The Scot spent 26 years in charge at Old Trafford, leading United to 38 trophies including 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns.
