James Corden apologises for his behaviour in a New York restaurant on The Late Late Show.

James Corden apologised for his recent behaviour in a New York restaurant in a segment of Monday night's edition of The Late Late Show.

Earlier this month Kevin McNally, owner of the Balthazar restaurant, took to social media to brand Corden "a tiny cretin of a man", accusing him of being "extremely nasty" to his waitstaff during a recent visit.

The pair appeared to make up when Corden then called him to apologise, but the talk show host then gave an interview to The New York Times in which he downplayed the incident, calling it "so silly" and adding: "I haven't done anything wrong, on any level."

The comments reignited McNally's anger, prompting Corden to address the furore when he returned to the airwaves on Monday.

"Because I didn't shout or scream, I didn't get up out of my seat, I didn't call anyone names or use derogatory language, I've been walking around thinking that I haven't done anything wrong," he said.

"But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server."
