Katie Price reportedly hands over her phone for a week as she enters rehab at The Priory.

Katie Price has reportedly had her phone taken away from her following her arrival at celebrity rehab clinic The Priory.

The 43-year-old is believed to have entered the facility yesterday, a day after she was arrested for crashing her car while under the influence of drink and drugs.

A magistrates' court ruled that she should seek treatment before returning on December 15 for sentencing, when she could be jailed.

According to The Sun, as part of the treatment process she will be required to surrender her phone and sever all external communications for the first week.

A source told the newspaper: "The handing over the phone rule might seem harsh at first especially when it might be deemed important for a patient to keep in touch with loved ones and family.

"But patients first need to develop a sense of what the doctors call self-acceptance and integrate a positive adult identity in order to achieve a true sense of wellbeing.

"This cannot be done through a computer, internet or mobile phone connection alone so that's why they have a digital detox.

"It helps take a break from the everyday stress, clutter and anxiety as well as pressure that could arise from constant and continued use of digital and internet devices.

"The treatment she is undergoing is very complex and plans can last as long as 28 days, depending on progress."

Stays at The Priory cost around £2,000 per week.
