ITV reportedly commits to a pilot episode of a new dating show featuring 40 and 50-something singletons as contestants.

ITV has reportedly given the go-ahead to a pilot of a new show being described as a version of Love Island featuring 40 and 50-something singletons and contestants.

The programme, which has the working title Your Mum, My Dad, is the brainchild of Love Island production company Lifted Entertainment.

The format will see children of older singletons matchmake for their parents in an exotic retreat.

A source told The Sun: "Times change and the current generation in their 40s and 50s still care about how they look, are fit and healthy, into fashion and are ready to let their hair down.

"This show will give those who settled down young a second chance at love while they still feel in their prime.

"And, let's face it, they know their minds, will be capable of intelligent conversation and are likely to be much more adventurous - all ingredients regular Love Island sometimes lacks."

Should it be ordered to series, Your Mum, My Dad is expected to air in 2023.
