Channel 4 announces the launch of a new true crime service on All 4 and the linear network this autumn.

Channel 4 has revealed plans to launch a new service aimed at fans of true crime programming.

Called 'True Crime on Channel 4', the new service will launch as a section on All 4 and a branded programming strand on Channel 4's linear stations later this year with an initial lineup of 150 hours of content.

Shows on the service will include new episodes of 24 Hours in Police Custody, three-part documentary Murder in the Alps and Bling Ring, about the wave of high-end burglaries in LA in 2008-09.

Channel 4 has also acquired Surviving R Kelly, Surviving Jeffrey Epstein and First 48 from A+E, as well as season two of The Devil You Know and season three of Dark Side of the Ring from Vice.

Danny Horan, Channel 4's head of factual, said: "We are incredibly proud to have some of the best original crime programmes on 4.

"Year on year the quality rises, as does the appetite for more stories particularly with younger audiences.

"In response to the demand, my team working with the Content Strategy and Planning team, have spent the last year curating brilliant international crime content to complement our British programming.

"We are thrilled to launch True Crime on 4, the first dedicated, cross-platform crime content strand on a UK PSB."

True Crime on Channel 4, which will feature new content drops every fortnight, will go live at some point in the autumn.
