BT Sport wins back the rights to Italian Serie A football in a new three-year deal.

BT Sport has picked up the rights to Italian top flight football in a new three-year deal.

The broadcaster wins back the rights from Premier Sports in time for the new season starting later this month and as part of the deal at least five games will be shown live each week.

Rachel Knight, director of sports rights at BT, said: "We want to provide our customers with the best sport from across the world and the addition of Serie A means viewers will get to follow some of the biggest stars, managers and clubs in world football.

"European football has always been an important part of our line-up, with Serie A now joining our exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, alongside France's Ligue 1."

The news comes a week after BT lost the rights to Germany's Bundesliga to Sky Sports.
