Newcastle Falcons have confirmed the signing of prop Jon Welsh from Glasgow Warriors.
The 28-year-old Scotland international will join the Falcons on a two-year deal in the summer.
Welsh has won a total of four caps for his country and was part of their squad for the Six Nations.
"I think Newcastle are a club with a big future. For me personally, it's the challenge of being able to come and compete in the Premiership," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
Newcastle continue their Aviva Premiership campaign on Saturday when they travel to London Irish.
