Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos fall to a surprising 31-24 defeat against Castleford Tigers at Headingley.

Castleford Tigers have overcome league leaders Leeds Rhinos 31-24 at Headingley to record their third league win on the bounce.

The Fords ran in two tries in the space of 12 minutes through Grant Millington and Liam Finn to storm ahead in the entertaining affair.

Things soon got worse for Leeds, who are still without back-to-back wins since mid-April, as Michael Shenton added try number three moments later.

Carl Ablett managed to cross over to lead the visiting side's comeback charge, while scores by Ryan Hall and Adam Cuthbertson cut the deficit to just two points at the interval.

Cas found their feet once more, however, as Denny Solomona found the whitewash six minutes after the restart to earn some further breathing space.

It was game on once more when Jimmy Keinhorst touched down, but a drop goal from Finn and a second Solomona try inside the final 10 minutes sealed the points at the end of a pulsating derby.

The Rhinos find themselves one point clear at the top of the Super League table, having played a game more than those around them, and just five points ahead of their opponents.
