Former US Open champion Andy Roddick joins the BBC team for this summer's Wimbledon coverage.

The BBC has announced that former US Open champion Andy Roddick has joined the team for this summer's Wimbledon coverage.

The 32-year-old American, who is a former world number one, will feature on the broadcaster's TV channels, as well as on Radio 5 live alongside seven-time Grand Slam champion Justine Henin.

"I'm honoured to join the BBC team for Wimbledon," said Roddick. "The Championships will always have a special place in my heart, and I'm excited to come back to cover them."

Henin added: "I feel very excited. Wimbledon has produced a lot of memories for me and it's great to be able to give something to the listeners."

Sue Barker will anchor the coverage on BBC One and BBC Two, while Clare Balding will host a one-hour highlights show called Wimbledon 2Day, which will feature a live audience and provide analysis of the day's play.
