Police arrest a man in relation to Saturday's coin-throwing incident that left West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt with a small cut under his left eye.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested in relation to the coin-throwing incident that marred the FA Cup fifth-round match between Reading and West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt was struck under the left eye by a coin thrown from the travelling crowd at Reading's Madejski Stadium.

Brunt was approaching the Baggies' supporters to give away his shirt at the end of the 3-1 defeat when the incident occurred.

A statement on Thames Valley Police's Facebook page read: "This morning (23/2) officers from Hampshire Police and Thames Valley Police joint operations unit arrested a male in relation to a coin throwing incident at Reading vs West Bromwich Albion FA cup fixture on Saturday (20/2). More details to follow later."

On Monday, Brunt urged the coin-thrower to 'own up'.
